Carry a Bag- Not a Plastic bag!
When you step out of your house today to shop, remember to carry a bag. The best idea is to permanently keep a cloth bag in your car, so that it comes handy any time you shop. This would save the environment from the burden of hundreds of millions of Plastic bags that take centuries to fully decompose. Most of us burn them to dispose off the plastic carry bags we have already brought home, not knowing that the dioxins released from them could harm our immune system, endocrine system, reproductive functions and more significantly our children’s nervous systems. Also the ink is made up of cadmium, and is highly toxic when it is released.
Even if you forget, if your purchase is small, you could choose not to take any bag from the shop - this alone could save hundreds of millions of bags. Or you could opt for paper bags from shops where they are available.
