Preserving resource for the future should be our motto – Prof. P.J. Kurian

Adding another feather to Clean and Green Tiruvalla Project, new Energy Conservation Program launched today. Program in association with Kerala State Electricity Board, Education Department and State Energy Management Center has been inaugurated by Prof. P.J. Kurian (M.P). Excessive consumption of natural resources will lead to a disaster and the society should make an effort for the conservation of resources, said Prof. P.J. Kurian, MP. He kicked off his speech by propagating the message 'Save Energy' and shown its practicality by offing lights. We are consuming energy by using lights even though it is not required.  Small actions can light great things. Unfortunately, most of our activities depicts greed rather than needs. ‘Preserving resources for future' should be our motto and we have the responsibility to hand over the same to our coming generations at least as it was given to us. It is students; they can trigger a change in the society and they can promulgate the message of energy conservation; through their little but great actions. He said. He released the Students Dairy of ‘Nalekkithiri Oorjjam’  by handing over to student representative.

Our efforts have the power to create healthy future and our actions today decide tomorrow. A sustainable approach is the need of this hour. While consuming resources lavishly, we should keep in mind; this is also required for our coming generations, said Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil, chairman of the Pushpagiri Group of Institutions in Thiruvalla. Fr. Mulamoottil was delivering the keynote address at a function heldin connection with the Energy Conservation Program as part of the Clean and Green Tiruvalla project, jointly sponsored by the Thiruvalla municipality and the Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies Thiruvalla (Macfast), at the St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Thirumoolapuram on Friday.  Reiterating the significance of resource conservation, he called for   students to take ahead the theme of Clean and Green. Children should play a key role in making people aware of the importance of conservation and this can be effectively done by students only, he said.
