Plants with Smile - Mulamoottil

Rev. Dr. Aabraham Mulamoottil (Former Principal, MACFAST) plants mango tree in the campus. Mr. George Mathew (Director, Radio), Mr. Glenda Fernadez (Project Oficer, CGT) and Mr. Shinu are seen.

Planting a tree is a good idea – exactly like a child. It grows to highs and become a refugee to numerous birds. If it is a mango tree, the sweet doubles. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil (Former Principal, MACFAST) planted one more tree in the campus yesterday. Planting a tree is nothing special to him because he has already planted large number of trees in the campus. “This was a rubber estate and I have cut down all the rubber plants but planted same number of different trees. Every tree has a life cycle similarly as a human being and it should cut down when its time comes. There is nothing logic in n agitating against  'cutting down' but what is important is - replace it with another. Planting tree is not an outstanding work but protecting and maintaining it is most outstanding and deserving” He said. He appreciated the efforts of Kochumon (Campus Gardener) for keeping things very well.

'CARE MY TREE' - Rev. Dr. Aabraham Mulamoottil (Former Principal, MACFAST) waters a mango tree in the campus after the planting.

He looked keen to see the butterflies and enthralled by seeing new species – “Yes! Two more butterflies add to our habitat. This is why I am promoting flowering and fruiting trees.” He said. He explained his greening plans in Pushpagiri as part of Clean and Green Tiruvalla Project. Distribute 10 endogenous medicinal plants which have special immunity power against normal diseases so that people can keep them selves away from hospital for simple reasons. He mooted and idea for a herbal/medicinal nursery at Pushpagiri.
“We have a plan to plant one more tree (fruit) in the campus before he leaves from the college. Named as ‘Mulamoottil tree’ this will live in campus as a symbol of his love towards nature. It plans to plant on coming green hour days.” Paul V Mathew (Project Officer, CGT) said. Mr. George Mathew (Director, Radio), Ms. Glenda Fernadez (Project Coordinator, CGT) and Mr. Shinu (Radio) were present.
